Kevin L. Futryk, a partner in Government Advantage Group, LLP, has been selected by the ACEC Ohio Board of Directors to serve as the Council's lobbyist.

“We believe Kevin will be an outstanding representative for Ohio’s engineering companies,” said Steven R. Bergman, ACEC Ohio President.  “He has an excellent reputation and comes to us with a lot of knowledge of the engineering industry.”

Futryk has been a Statehouse lobbyist since 1984. He has spent his entire professional life in government, beginning with his
election to the Seven Hills City Council in 1977 at the age of 19.

He served as an intern in the Ohio House of Representatives, worked for the administration of former Cleveland Mayor George V. Voinovich, and has served on numerous municipal boards and commissions, including almost 10 years on the city of Powell Planning & Zoning Commission (six as chairman), as a member of the city of Powell Development Committee, and founding member of the Powell Community Improvement Corporation.

Since 1984, Futryk has represented private sector interests before the Ohio General Assembly, the Governor's Office, and various state agencies and departments. Kevin has extensive experience in state budgeting, transportation, environmental, public safety, human service policy issues, association management, and is considered an expert in local and county government relations.

A past board member and president of the Ohio Lobbying Association, Kevin holds a bachelors degree in political science and a masters degree in public administration/finance from Cleveland State University. He is a three time recipient of the Ohio Lobbying Association Presidents Award, awarded for outstanding service to the lobbying profession, the only OLA Member to receive this honor three times.

Futryk and his partner in Government Advantage Group, attorney Michael P. Morrison, represent clients across a broad spectrum, including the Ohio Association of Regional Councils, County Treasurers Association of Ohio, Outdoor Advertising Association of Ohio, and the Ohio Council of Community Schools.

“I have been acquainted with Kevin for a number of years and I know he is well-respected in the General Assembly," said Executive Director Don Mader.  "He will be an excellent representative for our industry, and I'm looking forward to working with him to accomplish our legislative goals,” Mader said.
