Message from Beth--June 21, 2018

An overview of the last year at ACEC Ohio by the numbers and in pictures

Beth Easterday  Its hard to believe I just celebrated my two-year anniversary as President of  
  ACEC Ohio. What a great year it has been, thank you for your support!  This is
  the first year of our long-range strategic plan and the focus has been on chapter  
  integration, with a task force working 11 months to create an implementation
  plan. We feel strongly that the synergy between chapters and the state
  organization will enhance the Council's ability to be the leading authority that
  advocates, protects and promotes Engineering Business in Ohio.

1-Indemnification Bill introduced on behalf of ACEC Ohio

1-Tax Reform win for Engineering Businesses in D.C.

2-Gubernatorial candidates with their Lt. Governor candidates attending ACEC Ohio events 

2- Legislative Leadership Dinners Hosted

10- Congressional Member Meetings during ACEC Annual Convention in D.C.

6- PAC checks delivered by ACEC Ohio Members to Congressional Members in Ohio

2nd- time met ACEC PAC goal after 10-year hiatus

Member concerns addressed or continuing to be addressed:

  • BWC Safety Ratings
  • EDGE program graduation status and new prospects
  • OFCC RFQ updates for A/E projects
  • OEPA permit update
  • Compensation limits on construction projects
  • Workforce development—coordination on construction inspectors and NICET training
  • Alternative Delivery—Design/Build plan seals, insurance, contract issues
  • Technology—Drive Ohio
  • Transportation Funding Coalition
  • QBS Task Force created
  • Residency Requirement lawsuit- filed Amicus Brief at Appellate Court level and will file also at the Supreme Court level
