FOR Ohio Update--February 25, 2019

On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Governor DeWine and his Administration committed to addressing Ohio’s transportation funding problem and included an 18-cent increase in the state motor fuel user fee in their two-year Transportation Budget proposal. The increase would take effect on July 1, 2019.  In addition, the fee would be indexed to the Consumer Price Index annually.

ACEC Ohio testified in support of increased transportation funding at the House Finance Committee last Wednesday (ACEC Ohio House testimony 2.20.19) and will testify again this week  in support of the Govenor's proposal for a motor fuel user fee increase with indexing. Bergman Testify

Our coalition must maintain a strong show of support as this proposal moves through the legislature. With a short time frame to consider the state Transportation budget, it must be passed by the end of March, both Representatives and Senators need to hear from you. Please contact your legislators, either by phone, email or letter, asking them to support the DeWine Administration’s transportation funding proposal.  Sample Support Letter
