In this ever-changing time, ACEC Ohio and ACEC National want to offer you the information and resources needed to manage your business during the COVID-19 pandemic. With that in mind, ACEC Ohio has set up a resource page specific to Ohio with information on unemployment, remote work and directives from Governor DeWine. This page can be accessed directly on our website home page. ACEC national has also set up resource page on their website. As of today, Ohio has not passed any legislation to address the situation, but the legislature will be back next week to deal with issues related to the COVID-19 crisis (school testing, unemployment, business relief). I have been in touch with state agencies and the goal of ODOT, OTIC and OFCC is to continue business as usual with their capital programs. In addition, ODOT is preparing for the next round of federal stimulus adding engineering design work as part of their proposal to the federal government. On the federal front, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201) was signed into law by the President last night. This bill provides emergency paid and sick leave as well as payroll tax credits to employers. To see detailed information please click here: HR 6201 Summary
Next week ACEC will offer a FREE webinar titled COVID-19 Legislation: What do Employers Need to Know? The webinar will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 3:30pm with Amanda Machin of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP Sign up here: Webinar sign up In addition, ACEC will offer free webinars on the economic outlook and roundtables based on firm size in the next week.
ACEC Ohio wants to be a resource to you and your business during this time, please let me know if there is any information that we can assist you with.
Stay safe and healthy,
